The Morphogenetic Effects of the Hooded Gene in Barley II. Cytological and Environmental Factors Affecting Gene Expression.

چکیده
N a previous publication ( STEBBINS and YAGIL 1966), evidence was presented I which indicates that the complex syndrome of morphological effects produced by the dominant gene hooded ( K K ) in barley is initiated by a more rapid proliferation of epidermal and subepidermal cells on the adaxial surface of the lemma primordium, when it is 200-250 micra long. In the present publication, the association of this more rapid proliferation with an increased frequency of nuclei in the S or synthetic stage of DNA replication will be established. In addition, some factors which can bring about phenotypic reversion toward the awned condition will be pointed out.

Effects of Treatment with Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 and Co-culture on Expression of Piwil2 Gene in Mouse Differentiated Embryonic Stem Cells
Background Specific growth factors and feeder layers seem to have important roles in in vitro embryonic stem cells (ESCs) differentiation. In this study, the effects of bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) and mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) co-culture system on germ cell differentiation from mouse ESCs were studied. MaterialsAndMethods Cell suspension was prepared from one-day-old embryoid bo...
متن کاملValidation of a genus-specific gene; TPS, used as internal control in quantitative Real Time PCR of transgenic cotton
Identification of genes with invariant levels of gene expression is a prerequisite for validating transcriptomic changes accompanying development. Ideally expression of these genes should be independent of the morphogenetic process or environmental condition. We report here the validation of internal control gene i.e.TPS (trehalose 6-phosphate-synthase) in cotton (Gossypium spp), using TaqMan sy...

Identification, Isolation and Expression Analysis of Hevein gene Family in Barley (Hordeum vulgar)
Today, antimicrobial peptides are known as a new generation of antibiotics for treatment of microbial diseases in human and animals and protecting plants against different pathogens. Heveins are a group of antimicrobial peptides which are considered as one of the most important groups of antimicrobial peptides due to the very high diversity and expression in different plant organs as well as th...
متن کاملEffects of Oral Dosage of Lead Acetate II on Osteocalcin Gene Expression in Rat Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Background: Lead (Pb) is a heavy metal that has devastating effects on many animal tissues. In this study we investigated the effects of orally-dosed lead acetate II on osteocalcin gene (osteocalcin) expression in mesenchymal stem cells grown in an osteogenic medium. Osteocalcin is an abundant bone matrix differentiation protein. Methods: Twelve male Wistar rats were divided into three groups ...
